Maria Chapman

Steven Curtis Chapman has been one of my favorite musicians since I was a pre-teen.

He writes and sings some of the most beautiful songs. Here is a video and interview about one of my favorite songs that he created. This beautiful song was written by him for his daughters.

Yesterday He and his family experienced a heartwrenching loss.
Their 4 year old daughter, Maria, was killed in an accident.

I could not stop crying this morning as I thought of the lyrics to this song:

And Here is the story behind the song:

and here is the link to the In Memory of Maria page where there is another
video of Steven Curtis Chapman and His Daughter Maria

More than five years ago The Chapman's founded The Shaohannah’s Hope Ministry after bringing their first adopted daughter, Shaohannah, home from China. The ministry’s goal is to help families reduce the financial barrier of adoption, and has provided grants to over 1,700 families wishing to adopt orphans from around the world. Maria, was their youngest daughter, and also adopted.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the Chapman family over this tragedy,
our prayers are with you.

Yes, I heard about this just this morning. Her teenage brother didn't see her and ran over her. The police say that no charges will be filed, as they have called it a tragic accident. I too am a fan of SCC and I am just heartsick over this. If you listen to KLOVE, either on the radio or online, people are calling in with their condolences and they are recording them to send to the Chapman family.
THANK YOU for posting a blog about this.

Got to see him in concert in the very early ninety's. So sad to hear about the loss.
